Getting around in Florence

Florence’s main historic centre is relatively small and therefore easy to explore on foot. Take a guided walking tour for a perfect introduction to this beautiful city. Driving in Florence is not advisable, due to the many pedestrian roads, one-way systems, restricted driving zones and a shortage of parking spaces (don’t risk getting a ticket as it will follow you home). There is a hop-on-hop-off sightseeing bus operating in Florence which is a good way to travel on your first visit to the city, offering visits to the main sites and superb panoramic views.
